Richmond Times Dispatch - Santa Letter

The yellowed envelope, postmarked December 1949 in Charlottesville, was addressed simply: To Mr. Santa Claus North Pole

Stephanie Evans, neighbor/realtor of the author of a child’s
Christmas letter found by Tara Sims, co-owner of Yesterday’s
Change on N. Ridge Rd in Henrico, VA, inside an envelope
addressed to Mr. Santa Claus and postmarked from
Charlottesville, VA in 1949. She recently found out that the
person who wrote the letter so long ago lives nearby and is
helping coordinate it’s return to her. Sims and her husband,
Tripp, who operate Yesterday’s Change in Tuckahoe Shopping
Center on North Ridge Road in western Henrico County, see a
lot of interesting things come through the door, “but never
anything quite that adorable,” she said.
